So, you have managed to get your business online and you've probably managed to optimise your website for your key products or services. But it's also important to make sure that your website is optimised for local search.
You need to make your location very obvious - this helps potential customers and search engines find your website when looking for local businesses. With approximately half of all Google searches now targeting local content, it is clear that optimising for your nearby area is an effective way to win business online.
So how do you optimise your website for local search?

1. Check that all the information about your business is up to date and available on every page of your website. Make sure it includes your business name, address, and phone number.

2. Make sure that the information is in text format so that it can be read by search engines.

3. Optimise your content for local search. It is important that you use locational keywords within your content, pages titles, meta descriptions, and even your web address.

4. If you have a business with multiple locations, you will need to create seperate, optimised, and unique pages for each one.

5. Finally, make sure that it is easy for your potential customers to get in touch with you. Your phone number needs to be in a clear and prominent position, and you should include contact forms throughout your site.
