Free Google Business Profile Workshop for Small Businesses

If you run a small business, there’s a good chance you already have a Google Business Profile. But are you making the most of it?

Your Google Business Profile is one of the most useful free tools available to local businesses. It can help you appear when potential customers search for your services, show people where you’re based, display your reviews and give customers an easy way to contact you.

The problem is that many businesses set their profile up and then rarely look at it again.

Join my free Google Business Profile workshop

On Wednesday 9 September, I’m running a free 60-minute online workshop with TownSq to help small business owners get more from their Google Business Profile.

The session will be practical and straightforward. No complicated SEO jargon and no expectation that you need to be a marketing expert.

Instead, I’ll show you some of the things you can do yourself to improve your profile and give your business a better chance of being found by local customers.

What will we cover?

During the workshop, we’ll look at:

How to make sure your Google Business Profile is properly set up
Simple ways to improve your local visibility
The information Google and potential customers want to see
How to make better use of photos, posts and updates
The importance of Google reviews and how to approach them
Common Google Business Profile mistakes to look out for
Practical improvements you can make yourself

The aim is for you to finish the session with a clearer understanding of how Google Business Profile works and a list of things you can put into action.

Why does your Google Business Profile matter?

Think about how you find a local business. You might search for “accountant near me”, “plumber in Exeter”, “web designer in Devon” or “café in Torquay”.

Google will often show local business results prominently alongside a map. Your Google Business Profile is what powers much of the information people see there.

Visibility is only part of the story. A potential customer might look at your photos, opening hours, services and reviews before they ever visit your website.

An incomplete or neglected profile can therefore affect the impression someone gets of your business. Keeping it accurate, useful and active is a relatively simple way to strengthen your online presence.

Who is the workshop for?

The session is aimed at small business owners who want to improve their visibility on Google without getting bogged down in technical SEO. You don’t need any previous SEO knowledge.

If you already have a Google Business Profile but aren’t sure whether you’re using it properly, this workshop should give you plenty of practical ideas.
